Our Guides
Chatter Creek requires all guides to be certified Assistant Ski Guides and members of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). In addition to guiding certification all guides must be graduates of the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) Level 2 Avalanche Forecasting program and hold a current 80 hour Wilderness First Aid or OFA III certificate. Tail guides are required to have completed the CAA Level 1 Avalanche Operations course and hold current first aid certification as above. These are minimum industry standards and most of the guides and tail guides at Chatter Creek exceed these requirements.

Matthew GarnerMatt is going into his fifth winter working at Chatter. Depending on the week, you may find him enforcing the rules of the tyrant guides, or receiving the emotional abuse of the chef and kitchen staff. Matt is a Gemini and encompasses the traits of said astrological sign, including a double personality. One is a skier, while the other is a knuckle dragging snowboarder. During the summer Matt spends much of his time praying for forest fires to engulf the province, learning just enough Spanish to get by down south and making skin donations to local area skateboard parks. |
