Chatter Creek requires all guides to be trained and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). In addition to guiding certification all guides must be graduates of the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) Level 2 Avalanche Forecasting program and hold a current 80 hour Wilderness First Aid or Occupational First Aid Level III certificate. Tail guides are required to have completed the CAA Level 1Avalanche Operations course and hold current first aid certification as above. Most of our guides are also trained and certified by WorkSafeBC to use explosives for the purpose of avalanche control. These are minimum industry standards and most of the guides and tail guides at Chatter Creek exceed these requirements.
